Poppy Isobel
The producer
Poppy Isobel is a contemporary wine label originating from the renowned Marlborough region of New Zealand, specifically the Wairau Valley. Associated with the Eradus family—known for their "clean and green" viticulture—the brand is most celebrated for its vibrant Sauvignon Blanc. The vines are typically grown in stony, clay-rich soils that impart a signature flinty minerality and concentrated fruit profile to the wine. Tasting notes often highlight classic regional characteristics such as passion fruit, citrus zest, and crunchy green apple, balanced by a crisp, dry finish (often with less than 1g/L of residual sugar). While it is a relatively modern name compared to the region's pioneers, it has quickly gained a reputation as a sophisticated, "crowd-pleasing" expression of Marlborough’s unique cool-climate terroir.
