Famille Héraud

The producer

Famille Héraud (Domaine du Vallon des Perrières) is a fifth-generation family winery situated in the village of Clisson, southeast of Nantes in the Loire Valley. Set around an Italianate-style château overlooking the Perrières valley, the 21-hectare estate is spearheaded by brothers Romain and Gwenaël Héraud, who took over from their parents in 2018. The winery operates with full certified organic viticulture, making the most of the region’s distinctive granite-rich soils and microclimate to harvest grapes—primarily Melon de Bourgogne—at ideal freshness and maturity.

Specializing in authentic, mineral-driven Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie and premier Cru Clisson bottlings, Famille Héraud combines traditional subterranean tank fermentations and aging on fine lees with creative winemaking. Their portfolio highlights classic floral and citrus profile whites alongside specialized parcel selections aged in oak casks. Demonstrating a commitment to biodiversity and historic heritage, the estate has also reintroduced rare, historic hybrid varieties—such as Rayon d'Or, Seyval Blanc, Chambourcin, and Villard Noir—to produce unique artisanal table wines alongside traditional-method sparkling wines and organic grape juices.
