The Producer

Cascina delle Monache’s story is as young as deeply rooted and characteristic in the Gavi wine land. Rosangela and Carlo, known as “Gilli” and “Carlin” by friends and family, were the first founders of this family-owned business and began the story of our family’s dedication to the land. They have thought and shared with us values such as the respect for the nature and their passion for this job. They were traditional peasants with sacrifices instead of indulgences and whose hard work and determination helped them create a beautiful, rural lifestyle.

Giovanni, Carlin’s firstborn, is the heart of the estate. From since he was a child, he has been helping his parents farm the land. With his invaluable experience and dedication to his work he is committed to carrying on the family-owned business.

Anna, Giovanni’s wife, is a woman of many talents. She is a mother, a grapegrower, a dressmaker and so much more! Choosing to follow the vineyard path, she now manages the land with the upmost care and attention to detail.

Tiziano, the firstborn of Anna and Giovanni, knew his career path before he could even write his own name. “The farmer” is exactly what five-year-old Tizi knew he was going to be and with the help of his grandfather, he grew up learning how to work the vineyard.

Greta, the youngest daughter, knows the ins and outs of all the work it takes to run a winery, and is willing to help anytime. She is known for her extreme tidiness and attention to details, which is why she chose to manage the sales and shipments for the estate.

Today the estate is a total of 4 hectares, focused on organic farming and minimal intervention.
