Tasi Wines
The Producer
Tasi is a youthful, dynamic winery based in Tregnago, Verona, Italy, deeply committed to natural, organic, and regenerative viticulture. Founded by three friends—Michele, Matteo, and Mattia—the heart of their production is a unique, challenging terroir: a former limestone quarry at the top of a hill in the Val d'Illasi, which was transformed from an abandoned industrial site into a thriving vineyard. Their philosophy, humorously summarized by their name Tasi (a Veneto dialect word meaning "shut up"), is a call to focus on authenticity, sustainability, and quality, rejecting doctrine and pretension. They are devoted to minimal intervention, utilizing native yeasts, avoiding filtration, and adding only minimal sulfites to ensure the wine is a true and vibrant expression of the land.
The winery, which is part of the larger Tenuta Le Cave Wine Relais and Organic Farm, champions the indigenous grapes of the Valpolicella and Soave regions, crafting traditional wines like Valpolicella, Amarone, and Prosecco DOC with a distinct natural flair. Their vineyards, set against a backdrop of woods and integrated with animal husbandry, reflect a commitment to promoting biodiversity and soil health. By converting an industrial site into an organic farming haven, Tasi demonstrates how passion and conscious practices can result in wines that are not only authentic and terroir-driven but also vital, healthy, and reflective of a deeper commitment to the environment.
